I am a second-year Electrical Engineering graduate student at the University of California, San Diego.  I am a Ph.D. candidate and working under Prof. Nguyen in the Video Processing Lab. I recently graduated from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.

From the fall of 2005 until Spring 2007 I worked under Prof. Minh Do in the Image Formation and Processing group.  I completed my senior thesis with Ph.D. student Yue Lu on edge-directed interpolation methods involving the contourlet and wavelet transforms.  Over the summer of 2007, I worked under Martin Vetterli and Patrick Vandewalle at EPFL on the Matlab Companion to the future publication The World of Fourier and Wavelets.

My awards include the UIUC E.C. Jordan Award in Signal Processing and Circuits, the Maine East Mathematics Department Award for four years of accomplishment in the department, and 4 years of the Kraft Foods academic scholarship. While at UIUC, I was a College of Engineering James Scholar, HKN member, and member of the Dean’s List for multiple semesters.
